Luton Town has capped off an impressive regular Championship season with a 0-0 draw against Hull City, extending their unbeaten streak to 14 matches. The Hatters will now face Sunderland in the first leg of their play-off semi-final on Saturday, with the return leg scheduled at Kenilworth Road on Tuesday, 16 May.

During the match, Hull City made their own mark with some brilliant attacks. Adama Traore's shots were deflected behind, and Allahyar Sayyadmanesh's strike was deflected against the post. Luke Freeman and Joe Taylor also had their chances, but the game eventually ended in a stalemate.

After the half-time break, Lewie Coyle came close with a volley, only to see it go over the bar. Sonny Bradley's header for Luton and Sayyadmanesh's skewed volley for Hull also failed to find the net. With 15 minutes remaining, Luton sub Luke Berry attempted a long-range shot that narrowly missed the target.

Despite the draw, Hull City can take pride in their unbeaten away record, securing a respectable 15th-placed finish. However, they have struggled to clinch a victory on the final day of the season in recent years.

Luton manager Rob Edwards expressed satisfaction with the match, emphasizing the importance of resting key players to ensure their readiness for the upcoming games. He acknowledged the challenge Sunderland poses and highlighted the need for a strong defensive performance.

Hull manager Liam Rosenior praised his team's dominant performance, particularly in controlling the game and restricting Luton's chances. However, he recognized the need to strengthen their attacking prowess in the final third, vowing to recruit in the summer to build a competitive squad.

As the play-offs approach, the excitement is palpable for both Luton Town and Hull City. The teams will be aiming to showcase their resilience and secure a spot in the highly coveted Championship promotion.
