If you're not usually one to tune into the Golden Globes, I suggest making an exception this Sunday. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, the hilarious duo, will be hosting this year's Golden Globes, and I guarantee they'll have you in stitches.

In an amusing interview with Marie Claire, Tina joked about her exercise routine, saying, "Some people work with a trainer, some people work with a stylist. I work with a celebrity fecalist. A fecalist is basically a person who comes and collects my stools, and then examines them to see if I'm eating right and if I should be drinking more water and what my moods should be." Of course, Tina is kidding, so let's take a look at her real diet and exercise habits.

Tina Fey's Journey to a Healthier Lifestyle

Before Tina entered her late 20s, she could eat whatever she pleased without worrying about her waistline. However, at the age of 29, she realized that her weight wasn't as healthy as most women her age. That's when she turned to Weight Watchers to learn about eating healthier and practicing portion control. With the help of the program, by the time she was 35, Tina had shed 35 pounds. While on set, people are advised to steer clear of the actress as she indulges in lots of beans and kale – healthy choices for the funny lady whose weakness is white cake with white icing.

Fitting a workout routine into her busy schedule can be challenging for Tina, who spends 14 to 16 hours filming for 30 Rock and naturally wants to spend time with her family. She did give yoga a try a couple of times but didn't find the same enthusiasm for it as other celebrities. She humorously states, "You will still diet. I'll do grave yoga. Someone can cmd and stretch me in my grave." Now, at 42 years old and at the pinnacle of her career, she works out with a trainer when she's not filming.

Amy Poehler's Empowering Advice

Tina's best friend, Amy Poehler, doesn't often discuss her diet and exercise routine. However, she does emphasize the importance of loving one's body and physical features to young girls. In a video from 2024, the always funny Amy got serious with her words, stating, "The earlier you learn that you should focus on what you have and not obsess about what you don't have, the happier you will be. You really will be happier in life if you let go of things you will never have."

After giving birth in 2024, Amy most likely applied her own words of wisdom to her workout routine. Just four weeks after having her baby, she made her post-baby body debut at a red carpet event. While she may not have fit the Hollywood stereotype of being super skinny, she undeniably looked healthy and radiant.

Embracing Simplicity for Long-Term Fitness

Working in the entertainment industry doesn't mean that all celebrities adhere to questionable diets like the Maple Syrup Diet or the Baby Food Diet. Tina and Amy's lifestyles demonstrate that sticking to simple workouts and healthy food choices has helped them maintain their fitness over the years. Perhaps the funny ladies will even share some of their diet and fitness secrets at this Sunday's Golden Globes!
