MLB The Show 23 has been available for a few weeks now, and the overall response from the community has been mostly positive. However, like any game, it does have its fair share of flaws, bugs, and issues.

In the past, we have reported on issues with the 'pinpoint pitching' on Xbox, as well as freezing and connectivity problems in the online and co-op mode. Unfortunately, the problems don't end there.

MLB The Show 23 Cooldown Timers

The online and co-op mode of MLB The Show 23 is plagued with freezing issues. When the game freezes for a player, they are left with no option but to quit or leave the match.

But here's the catch, every time a player leaves a match due to the game freezing, they are met with a temporary ban or a cooldown timer. These timers can range from a couple of hours to even 10 hours in extreme cases. As one player put it, they are certainly a night ruiner.

To make matters worse, players may receive a cooldown timer even if their game doesn't experience any freezing issues. If a teammate in the co-op mode leaves due to such problems, the entire group receives a temporary suspension.

This is incredibly frustrating and is ruining the gaming experience for a lot of players. Many have taken to social media platforms like Twitter and Reddit to report this problem.

Players are particularly annoyed because they are being penalized for something that is the game's fault. Unfortunately, there is no real solution to this issue at the moment.

However, there is a workaround to avoid the penalties or cooldowns - you can stay in the frozen state until the match ends. While this may not be a perfect solution and it may waste a lot of your time, it is still better than facing a 2-3 hour ban.

The developers of MLB The Show 23 have not yet commented on the issue of players receiving cooldown timers for leaving frozen matches. We will keep an eye on this matter and update this story with any important developments.

Update (April 20, 2023)

04:52 pm (IST): Multiple players are still experiencing the freezing issue, which results in cooldown penalties upon exiting the game. There is currently no official word on this matter.
